The carbon emission standard for Hong Kong restaurants is derived from the financial reports of the 40 listed restaurants.

We calculated from these reports mean of scope 1 + 2 carbon emissions per million HKD sales from these reports. The average carbon emission in 2022 is 15 metric tonnes of CO2 equivalent per million on revenue.

We established it as the benchmark for carbon emissions in the Hong Kong restaurant industry.
